What people are saying about our restaurant
Anyone, who visits our place leaves us well fed and in a great mood!
The warmth of the Al-Casbah Restaurant welcomed us in, the invitation we have been given to come here was about to start. We were seated kindly, with a smile, the relaxing feeling soon coiled in and we became warm and cosy. We were promptly given our drinks and left chatting and listening to the Algerian music. For my started I ordered Humous Salad and Pita Bread, it was like a melting sensation inside in my mouth, all the herbs blended together and the creamy Humous combined with olive-oil was so tasty.
I then ordered my main course which was Spicy Lamb Sausages, more Salad and Rice, all the cultural flavours conjoined together and became a mouth-watering passion, the sausages were so rich in flavour and the rice was the best rice I've ever tasted!
The Pastry (Baklava) was a honey – sweet emotion, the layers of pastry filled with chopped nuts and syrup was heaven, the cream tingled in my mouth with sweet surprise.
Overall this was a friendly, enjoyable experience I would defiantly come here again
We went to Al-Casbah restaurant for lunch on the 3 December at the end of mill road bridge (Cambridge). We had a 3 course meal and a drink, it was very delicious. For our starter I had the chorba it was a Algerian soup it was a tomato based soup with noodles fresh vegetables and herbs flavoured with shoulder of lamb. For my main course I had the kafta it was also Algerian meal it was skewered minced lamb prepared with fresh herbs and spices. And for my desert I had the baklava it was a Algerian desert it was honey wrapped pastries with sugar and you could have it with cream or ice cream. And about the staff the where very friendly and welcoming with a smile on their face and they greeted us well I would definitely go back there one day.
A few of my class members and I were kindly invited to experience some high quality Mediterranean cuisine at the Al-Casbah on Mill Road a few days ago. The restaurant's appearance was very interesting and a good conversation topic; the décor of the restaurant set an extremely cultural but inviting atmosphere which everyone enjoyed.
For a starter I had fresh, warm pita bread with, honestly the best homous I have ever tasted. I couldn't get enough. I also had tabbouleh with my starter which had an exceptionally interesting texture and was indulged in a fruity tang flavour.
For a main course I picked the vegetarian crepe which most definitely lived up to expectations. The exterior of the dish was coated in smooth, melted cheese, along with a burst of flavour from the tomato sauce which made an excellent combination. The inside of the crepe was filled with perfectly cooked spinach, and had a pleasant, sweet taste to it.
